Donald "Donnie" Scharber Obituary
DONALD "DONNIE" SCHARBER

Winchester, TN

Age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Willows of Winchester. Donnie was born on May 6, 1941 to the late Edward Henry and Florence Frances Scharber Sr. Donnie set the example for others by serving his State and community in many capacities. At a young age Donnie enlisted in the Tennessee National Guard where he retired after 30 years. In 1979 he joined the Clarksville Fire Department where he spent time training other firefighters and retired as Captain. Donnie was an active Mason, Shriner, member of the Kiwanis Club and Bass Club. In his spare time he loved cooking for others and fishing. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family. In addition to his parents Donnie is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Jane Scharber, brothers, Eddie Scharber, Bobby Scharber and Parker Scharber. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, daughter, Summer Hughes; granddaughter, Gracie Hughes; grandson, Bradley Hughes; sisters, JoAnn (Buck) Dotson of Winchester and Peggy Payne of Tullahoma; sister-in-law, Nancy Scharber of Winchester; special nieces, Jo Lynn Schultz and Jackie Collins both of Winchester; special friend, Dennis Taylor of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2016 from 5-8pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Masonic ceremony will be conducted Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00am from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral mass following at 11:00am from the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Dexter Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with Military Honors rendered. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Multi County Cancer Society Network, P.O. Box 1355, Tullahoma, TN 37398; American Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202 or to the Fire Fighter Fund in Clarksville.
